Chapter 48 - Have A Little Faith



The end of the first leg was a welcome sight for everyone.  With their bags in their hands, they exit the company jet and tell each other goodbye.

After reading her text message, he decides not to respond.  With the voicemail that she had left about not taking the twins on the yacht, he decided it was best to talk to her in person.

Beth sat there dazed, unsure of why he hung up.  With her phone in hand, she starts down the hallway into the twins room, quickly typing to Jon, Why did you just hang up?  She presses send and goes about her business, giving little thought to if he would even reply.

Together they get the twins ready to put back into bed.  Both have full bellies and dry butts.  They kiss each one goodnight and Beth turns to leave.

He leans forward, resting his hands on his head, "You know that this has to be the end then.  I won't chase you and I won't wait for you."

He takes the glass off of the counter and takes a drink.  She can feel the cockiness she is about to hear, they have danced this dance and played this song.  "I'm not going anywhere, Beth."
