Chapter 94 - She Can Part The Water

Without another word, Jon and Beth leave Dorothea and Brian in the SoHo apartment - each with their stomach in knots and their minds going ten miles a minute.

When they reach the ground floor, they exit the building between a few fans and get into Beth's car.  With the ignition running, Jon can finally look at her, "Beth, I had no idea."

The sound of his voice and the way his voice sounded made her cry.  She could hear his gut wrench with his words, "I know."  She can't stop the tears and the crying, "I know you didn't."  She puts her head in her hands, feeling Jon slide his arm around her, he pulls her to him.

"Hey, are you going to be okay?" Jon buries his lips in her hair, "We'll get through this too."

"Can we get out of here."  Beth lifts her head and looks at her husband, "I don't want to be here if they come here."

"Yeah, yeah."  Jon assures her, putting the car in drive.  Slowly he pulls away from the curb, into the one way traffic.  People are crossing in front of them, paying no attention to who was in the Benz.   "I'll get you home."  He reaches over and rubs her leg, "I'll get you home."

Without a pause, Beth reaches up and pushes the button to call home.  Through the blue tooth, they listen to the phone ring.  "Hi Beth."  They hear Jacob say.

"Hey Jakey, is Pete right there?"  Beth asks, as she's wiping tears from here eyes, fighting the irritation from New York City traffic.

"Yeah, hang on."  The young man says and then they can hear him yell, "Pete, it's Beth."

After a few minutes of silence, they can hear, through the speakers of the car, the pitter patter of the little feet and the giggles that go with it.  Jon and Beth look at one another and it is then that Jon can see why she called home suddenly.

"Beth?"  Pete says into the phone.

"Pete, I need you to do me a favor.  I need you to get all the kids in the car and go to Jon's moms house and I need you to do it right now."

"Beth....."

"Pete, please.  Let Stephanie take Jon's car, she can take Jesse and Jake.  You take Romeo and the twins."

"What's going on?"  Pete starts to freak out a little bit, chasing the twins down the hallway into the play room.  "Is everything okay?"

Jon takes his turn, feeling that Pete needed to understand the urgency of what Beth is asking.  "Pete, just throw the kids in the cars and get to my mom and dads please!"

"Okay, but what do I tell the kids?"

"Put me on speaker and take me to where they are."  Pete does as she's instructed.  She finds the clan in the family room, rough housing and playing video games.

"Kids, your dad is on the phone."  Pete tells them as she stands there and holds out the phone.  "Okay, Jon."

"Kids, you need to go upstairs, grab a change of clothes and your chargers.  Steph, take Jess and Jake to grandma's.  Romeo, you go with Beth."

In sync, the older children whined and said "Do we have to?  Why are we going to grandmas."

"Do as I say.  Beth and I will meet you there." Jon assures the kids, looking at Beth.  He can see that she is a nervous wreck, knowing that Trenton wasn't far from their house.

"Dad, why can't we go to Uncle Matt's?"  Stephanie questions as she starts to walk upstairs, "Grandma drives me crazy."

"Stephanie, please.  I need you to help Pete and I need all of you to get to grandma's as soon as possible.  I promise, I'll explain it all to you guys when we get there."  Beth throws in there, "Please Rose."

"FINE!"  she spouts back and walks away, "Come on Romeo, let's go pack your bag."

The older kids do what they were told and go upstairs to collect the things that they will need for a sleepover at grandma's.  Pete does the same thing for herself and for the twins and when they are ready, they get into the two cars and go to grandma's house.

It wasn't long after that Jon and Beth make it to his mothers house, walking into the house hearing six kids laughing and playing made Beth smile.  Not wanting to end it, she grabbed Jon's hand and stopped him as they walked into the service entrance of the back of the house.  All of their cars were behind and in the garage, so no one knows that they are there.  "Listen to that."  She smiles at him.  "That right there makes all of this bullshit worth it, to hear that, let them try what they will, cause in the end, we will still have that."

He leans over and kisses he, leading her through the kitchen to the living room where the whole family was.  As they walk in, they see the twins being silly and laughing at a game of peek a boo with grandpa. "Hi guys!"  Jon says.  As soon as the twins see them, they both make a mad dash for their mom and dad.  "Look at you two, being so goofy.  Did grandma give you sugar?"  Jon winks at his mom.

Jon and Beth take a seat in the living room and that's when all of the questions started.  The kids don't understand how they can return from a honeymoon, and then they have to spend the night at grandmas.

"Dad, what's going on?"  Jesse jumps right in, "Why are we here?  We just got home."

"Did you find out why that Brian guy is back?"  Stephanie questions, laying on the living room floor, with her I phone in her hand.  "What does that asshole think he's going to do?"

"STEPHANIE ROSE BONGIOVI!"  Grandpa yells at her, "I don't ever want to hear you talk like that."

"Grandpa, really?" she mouths back.  "I've heard you say much worse."

Beth doesn't want to deal with the petty stuff right now.  Jon's mom and dad don't even know what's going on.  Jon is holding Brianna and Beth has Spencer, "Well, you guys - we found out alot of information and it has raised some pretty serious concerns for us."

"Such as?"  Jesse speaks up, looking at his dad.

"Well, I'm just going to lay it out there.  Brian is married to Melissa now, Dalton is out of prison and he is picking Melissa up from the psych hospital in Trenton as we speak."  Beth gets out in one sentence and watches Jon's mom just about have a heart attack.

With the her hand covering her mouth, Jon's mom mumbles, "You have got to be kidding me."

Beth shakes her head no and adds, "Plus, Dorothea helped Dalton and Melissa write their book.  She's the source that gave the inside info and private family photos."

"What can we do, what do you need us to do?"  Jon's dad asks, in complete shock.  "We will help in anyway that we can son, you know that."

Jon stands up, hiking Brianna on his shoulders and tells them, "There isn't anything we can really do.  We need to wait, see if we can find out what they have planned or we need for them to act."

"Lay and wait?"  Jesse asks,

Beth nods her head, looking at Jake and Romeo that are laying on the floor playing games on their iPhones.  "That's all that we can do.  We couldn't get a straight answer out of your mom or Brian."

"He was there?"  Jon's mom about choked on her saliva as she spoke so fast, "He was really at Dorothea's?"

"Yeah mom, it's a mess."

"A nightmare."  Beth adds.

"You need to call the police."  Jon's dad stands to walk over and grab the cordless house phone.  "You need to lock them all back up."

Jon takes a deep breath and looks at Beth.  He can see the disbelief on her face and the sadness in her eyes.  Here there are, married just a couple of weeks and they are already facing another crisis, another family drama.  "Dad, we can't.  They haven't done anything criminal."

"YET!" his mother protests, getting up herself walking over to the bar to pour herself a glass of wine.  Holding up the bottles, "Does anyone else want any?"

Stephanie raises her hand, "I'll have some grandma."

"I will too." adds Beth.

Mrs. B pours the wine and they all sit there and talk, using as much code as they can.  Jon and Beth would not normally talk about this stuff in front of the kids, but neither of them wanted the kids out of their sight.  They know that something is going to happen, they just don't know when and what.

  1. hhhmmmm..... First off GREAT chapter. You had me on the edge of my seat as I read their explanation to the kids and Jon's folks.

I think it's a fair assumption that something else is going to happen especially since the group is all in one general area.

Not sure which way Dot is going to go. My gut says she will seek out revenge on Jon and Beth as she still thinks she is wronged by Jon. Maybe not a first as she is in shock of the magnitude of the whole thing, but she seems a little gullible lately and will probably side with the most forceful of arguments at the moment...

    Thoughts everyone?

  2. Yeah she's still pissed at Jon and still in love with him at the same time. And blames Beth for the divorce even thou their marriage was over before Jon met her. So Dot's screwed up in the head and anything can happen with her. The way Monica (Jons) is writing this I have no idea where she is going with this and not even going to guess! She's too good a writer and what she has in her head for this story is wild! I'm just along for the ride! So keep up the great writing and I'll be here to read it and be amazed!
