Chapter 67 - As Close As The Holy Ghost

The night was cool, the windows open and the breeze very romantic.  Jon and Beth have longed to be together, alone without the possibility of interruption.

Beth dops her bags on the floor and walks over to the bed.  Looking at the linens, the flowers, the flowing lace that surrounded their love bed, she couldn't help but look back at Jon and smile.  "Gloria really out did herself on this one."

"She knows that you deserve it."  he's not close enough to touch her, so her fixes that problem.  When she is within reach, he hooks her at the hip and draws her closer.  "You deserve this and so much more."

"We deserve this." she takes his hand and leads him into the bathroom.  The bathroom is decorated just as beautiful as the bed is.  Rose petals in the bathtub, candles lit and illuminating a soft glow, soft music playing in the background.  "You thought of everything."

"I took mental pictures over the years and I reach back to them from time to time.  You need this more than I do."  He slides his finger under the strap of her sun dress and works it over her shoulder, and then he does the other one.  Once it falls over her breasts, it falls to the floor and he loves what he sees.  She's a nursing mother that has fed two babies for months and she has the figure of a 25 year old.  She isn't wearing a bra, and the panties that she has on were lacey and very sexy.  One finger and those were slid down, Beth didn't need to help.  As he bent over to work her panties to the floor, his mouth was drawn to her perfect and ample breasts.  When she could feel the warmth wetness of her breath, she was covered in chills and her reflex was to grab him and have her way with him.

He teases her, stopping long enough to start her bath water.  She's standing there completely naked, admiring the body that is bent over before her.  She has always admired and desired his body, not only because he took great care of himself, but the way that his body made her feel.  No matter what has happened, whenever they are together, there are no problems, no issues and they pick up right where that left off.

Reaching for her hands, he helps her step in the tub.  She sits down and sways her hands in the water, moving the bubbles and the rose petals.  "Are you going to join me?"

"I am not.  I'm going to get the wine.  I'll be right back."

"Babe, join me."

"I will." he winks at her and goes to get the wine and glasses.  When he returns, Beth is laying in the hot bathtub, with a towel rolled up under her head, eyes closed.  She hears Jon come back.

"This is wonderful, but it would be heaven if you joined me, babe." she wants him in the tub with her, his naked flesh close to hers and nothing between them but the bubbles.

"In a minute, relax." he winks a her, "Do you want some?"

"Yes please."  Jon pours them a glass of wine and hands it to her.  Setting his down on the edge of the tub, he starts to take his clothes off.  Beth is watching this and she asks him, "Will you slow down.  I love watching you undress."

"The water is getting cold." he jokes with her as he drops his pants to the floor.

"I'll keep you warm."

He climbs into the bathtub with her and the two of them relax and drink their wine and have great conversation.  "I'm glad that you wanted to come up here."

"I think you knew that I would want to." she says, slowly working a foot between his legs.  She loves the look on his face, she has him a little nervous.

"Easy." he reaches under the water and start to rub the foot that's between his legs.  For a few minutes they just spend the time looking at one another and just being happy that they are together.  Neither thought that they would ever make it to this point.

"Hey."  Beth gently says, with a grin on her face.

"What?"

"We need to set a date.  I want to send save the date cards." she tells him, waiting to see what is reaction is.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah.  I want to start planning."

Jon looks at her and reads her face and he can see that she is serious, "Well, do you want to do it this fall?  Wait until Spring?"

"I was thinking a destination wedding."

"Where at?"

"What about here, or maybe St. Bart's?"

He's shocked by those answers, because he was wanting to marry her at their new house. "What about at home?"

She shakes her head no and explains, "I have a long guest list and there are some people that I don't want in our home."

"Then they shouldn't be at our wedding." he states, "If they're good enough to come to our wedding, then they are good enough to come to our home."

"That's not the case and you know it."

"Who do you want to invite to our wedding, that isn't welcome in our home?" she can feel his touch getting a little more tense.

Beth sits up and slides in so she's next to Jon and they are face to face.  "There isn't any one person that comes to mind, but let's say that Tammy brings a date and we don't know him?  I don't want strangers in our home.  Been there, done that."

"What if we put up tents and hired security?" he asks, really wanting to get married on their property surrounded by their family and friends.  "I really want to have it at the house."

"Can I think about that?"

"Even though you asked for a date?  Yeah," he laughs, "Think about it and I want to get married this fall."

"You do?" she's surprised by what he just told her.  She smiles, "Okay, we'll get married this fall."  He leans over and kisses her.  "For real. this fall?"

"Yes.  Sooner if you'd agree to it."

"How soon?" she is even more surprised now.  "Why the push to get married?"

He leans back and gives her a wink, "All of my other dreams have come true but that one."

"A dream huh?" she slides back to her spot, resting her head back on the rolled towel. With a gulp of her wine, she smiles, "Marrying me is still a dream of yours?"

"Absolutely.  There is nothing more that I want to do." he admits, confesses and confides, "I want nothing more than to be your husband."

Their night in Napa was a beautiful one.  One that they have needed and one that they both deserved.  They lounged around after their bath and watched a little TV.  As they laid there, they talked about everything and nothing at all.  They needed the space and they needed each other in this way.  Jon is getting tired and Beth can see it in his eyes, "Roll over."

"Why?" he asks, with a little lip curl.

Beth pokes his nose and says, "Roll over.  Do as you're told."

He doesn't fight her.  He rolls his naked body over, so he's now laying on his stomach.  Beth climbs up on him, with her hand crème from the night stand in her hand and she starts to rub his back.  She lathers up her hands and rigorously gets into this muscle.  His moans and groans tell her that he is enjoying what she's doing.  That makes her dig deeper and deeper, eventually putting him in a mild trance.  She can see that he is almost asleep, so she lightens up a little and lets him fall asleep.  She's happy that she was able to relax him like that. For her, it was the prefect way to end the night.
